Lord Ganesha, also referred to as Ganapati or Vinayaka, is one of the most sacred and dearest gods in Hinduism. Ganesha is revered as the god of knowledge, prosperity and new beginnings, with his elephant head, big ears, and pot-bellied.
He is conventionally invited to ceremonies and prayer, it is said to remove obstacles to success and bring success. Ganesha's symbolic figure holds profound spiritual significance - the large ears symbolize listening, his small eyes symbolize concentration, and his broken tusks symbolize sacrifice for a noble cause.
He is generally depicted with four arms, holding sacred objects such as modak (sweet) for sweetness of knowledge, ball to cross obstacles, lotus for purity, and sometimes ax or rope to sever attachment. His companion is representative of humble mouse, humility, and the slightest fear and capability to conquer doubt.
